Council for Children of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Council for Children of Bosnia and Herzegovina was formed by the Decision on the Formation of the Council for Children of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina", number 4/13) ) in order to fulfill the obligations that Bosnia and Herzegovina has in relation to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and its three optional protocols. The Council for Children of Bosnia and Herzegovina is an expert, interdepartmental, advisory and coordinating body of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, responsible for the promotion and protection of children's rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially for monitoring the implementation of the Action Plan for Children of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Council for Children operates under the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Council for Children of Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of 13 members, eight (8) members from the ranks of civil servants, two (2) members from the ranks of non-governmental organizations and three (3) members from the ranks of the academic community.
